Kris Rain earned her Real Estate license in 2006 and has been working full time helping people buy and sell homes in the Greater Palm Springs Area ever since. Her strength lies in the fact that she truly loves helping make people’s dreams come true and can easily build rapport with all different kinds of personalities. Communication is key to her success, and she lives by the Golden Rule. A Yoga practitioner since 2014, Kris brings intention, mindfulness, balance, and flexibility to her real estate practice as well.
Kris came to Palm Springs on a whim in 1980 from Lincoln, Nebraska, and immediately fell in love with the mountains, the beauty of the desert, and the fact that she could be poolside in the winter rather than shoveling snow in the bitter cold. Waiting tables at the high volume and popular restaurant Las Casuelas Terraza developed her strong work ethic and customer service skills where she eventually became a manager.
Kris was offered an opportunity to become a salesperson for a wholesale button company in Los Angeles in the late 1980s where she honed her sales skills working with clothing manufacturing companies. She broadened her world view during this period with the work taking her to countries in Southeast Asia and working with factories in Europe.
Life changed dramatically in 1995 when she became a mother of healthy triplet sons. Kris moved back to Palm Springs in 1998 to be close to her family who followed her to the desert in the 80s. Kris learned a lot about Palm Springs’ rich mid-century modern architecture while managing the Albert Frey-designed Movie Colony Hotel and as a tour guide to the William Krisel-designed Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway when Modernism was in its infancy. Meeting modernists who came from all parts of the world prepared her with knowledge that she would rely on in her future real estate career.
Kris Rain has retired from active selling and is now a Referral Only agent.
